Great Episode guys, and congrats on the 1yr anniversary. I have listened to all of the shows and enjoy it. Thanks for all the hard work and effort you put in. My favorite segment is Joe Memories. I'm a co-host on StarJoes Podcast so I know how hard it is to keep at it and I wanted to say thanks.

Maybe the accoustics were worse, but this was a good episode. Especially liked the JoeMemories segment about Snake Eyes. And the Journey song at the end put me in a totally better frame of mind today! Thanks!

Kirk is an awesome guest with fantastic ideas... Why would that be? Seriously, We all talked about licensing and maybe games, puzzles, etc. are dated now, but the concept is perfect and it works -- cross-promotion. Engineernerd brings up high-qual. vid games... Cool. Plenty of other trad. products that still sell and could be "branded." Characters reinvented? Why not. That's what we had. But it might work too with some of the same, but a quality, solid, steady media backing of some kind.

That was excellent! Kirk is dead-on: re-envision GIJoe for the next generation. Just like I couldn't relate to the '60s "Joe", kids probably don't think much of the Vietnam/Cold War era special forces characters. A Duke figure on the pegs at all times? That's a weak sales strategy, Hasbro.

Just got around to listening and it was well worth the wait. Bill Ratner is awesome. He's always been my favorite of the Sunbow Joe team leaders and the voice hasn't changed. Such an easygoing, intelligent and inquisitive individual. It was a great interview. Hope Mary and Bill can team up in the future for a return visit.

Loved the "Scaled Up" segment! The M-50 may not look much like the Armadillo, but certainly fits the inspiration bill. Thanks for the book title, too; my library is miserable for decent military equipment reference material.

Just thought I'd pass along some praise and a recommendation!

Praise:
I've been enjoying your show for a while now, and you guys are getting better each episode--good job.

Recommendation:
I have wanted to participate in the Twitter Toonin events, but I hesitate to spam my followers with a stream of Joe comments. (Obviously I don't mind the multiple tweets from the accounts devoted to G.I. Joe.) I think I have a solution that would make it easier for non-Joe Twitter accounts to participate.

I think it would work pretty well if you created a Twitter account devoted to Toonins (@twittertoonin is still available, e.g.) so people could start each reply with that address. This would make all the Toonin tweets invisible to people that don't follow the @twittertoonin account, but they would still all show up for anybody following the account. I would participate more if I knew I wasn't annoying my family and friends.

Just a thought. Thanks again for the interesting information each time you podcast.

Nick

Tom's stories are awesome. Always cool to get an older collector's perspective since our 70's and 80's memories tend to be fuzzy and highly idealized. Glad to know that those aisles were truly as I remember 'em.
